2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics

2010 Winter Olympic Outdoor Cauldron

How odd that Vancouver is the one place left wanting for snow this year. But the spirit of the games continues undaunted and metals are being won at venues all around British Columbia, Canada. Here is a calendar of events for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.

Vancouver is a classy, clean and fun city that has a lot to offer visitors.  Tucked between mountains and the sea, Vancouver itself is simply gorgeous. There is also a lot to see and do outside the city. Whistler, a world-famous ski resort, is just a short drive north. Be sure to check out Horseshoe Bay on the way. This lovely community offers beautiful views, great fishing and boat tours and ferries to nearby islands.

If your group is traveling to or from Vancouver or another Canadian destination, buses are a great way to get across the border en mass. Don’t forget to take your ID and a passport to get into Canada and get back to America. You can also save some money by picking-up your loonies and toonies at your local bank prior to leaving rather than at the border currency exchange. Using a credit card for purchases is most convenient, but be sure to check the fine print of your card holder agreement first. Some cards tack on high fees to purchases made in a foreign currency!
